Kyle Busch‘s widow, Samantha Buschand his 11-year-old son, Brexton, honored the late NASCAR legend with a celebration of life ceremony.
ESPN The family paid tribute to Kyle at the event held at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, on Friday, October 9th.
According to the news, 40-year-old Samantha gave an emotional 10-minute speech at the ceremony attended by more than 10,000 race fans.
“I don’t want to feel like we’re having a phase [his life] today,” Samantha said. “This isn’t the end of Kyle’s story. “When we take a chance on a young racer, share something he taught us, or share with the next generation what made Rowdy unforgettable, his story continues.”
He continued: “I hope that years from now people will remember Kyle as one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR. He worked his whole life for that. But I also hope that they will meet someone whose life is better because Kyle is here. That’s a legacy that no checkered flag can contain.”
In her speech, Samantha also expressed her gratitude to the racing community.
“I didn’t fully understand what this sport meant until I lost it,” he said. “The races continued, the cars continued to roll around the track, but our world had stopped. I didn’t know how we would find our way without him. But then you all showed us. You came to Brexton races. You honored Kyle at every racetrack across the country and shared what he meant to you.”

Kyle died on May 21 after he was found “unresponsive” in his Chevrolet racing simulator. He was 41 years old. According to the death certificate received WeKyle had pneumonia “days or weeks” before his death, which turned into sepsis.
Samantha first crossed paths with Kyle at a racing event in 2007. The two began dating shortly after and married in December 2010. They welcomed Brexton on May 10, 2015, and Lennix via surrogate on May 18, 2022.
Following Kyle’s death, Samantha broke her silence via Instagram on June 5, thanking those who expressed their condolences and for their support during the tragic news.
“As a family, we wanted to take a moment to thank you,” Samantha wrote in her post. “Prayers, messages, flowers, meals, hugs and countless acts of kindness carried us through the most heartbreaking days of our lives. While our hearts were shattered, we felt God’s presence in each of you and his arms wrapped tightly around us.”
