Raising Bates‘ Michael “Michaela” Bates And Brandon Wedges They raised their third baby.
“Since my last post, we have added a new foster baby to our family,” Michaela, 36, wrote on Instagram on Sunday, October 11. “He’s been full of life lately. There’s been so much going on that I haven’t taken the time to sit down and share most of it.”
The reality star, who married Brandon, 37, in August 2015 and already has two adopted children with him, added that her family is enjoying this special time. “We had so much to celebrate as a family, so many reminders of how precious life and family are,” he continued, adding his father: Gil BatesHe continues his recovery process after a recent heart attack.
The baby news comes as fans of the reality series are asking the couple about their plans to adopt their adopted children in the future. Both Michaela and Brandon answered fan questions in a YouTube video posted in August.
“Life continues to be an adventure out there and I know someone somewhere has made some comments about the adoption choice,” Brandon began in his Aug. 22 clip. “We love the boys as much as we can, but that’s not something we have right now.”
Michaela added at the time: “I feel like we get so many comments through social media, you know, ‘I hope the kids stay with you forever’ or ‘It’s time for you to send them back home.’ “This is the first time we’ve done this, but we’re just a home where we can love kids for as long as they need them.”
He concluded: “So, it’s not really up to us what happens. We’re just here to be here for them and support them.”

News that Michaela and Brandon have been added to the latest foster family breaks between Gil and his wife. Kelly Jo BatesHe shares a detailed update on Gil’s recovery. “I’ve been missing this place for a few weeks, but here’s a little glimpse into life after Gil’s heart attack…” began a post shared via the official Bates family Instagram account on Friday, October 9. “We have been showered with love from our children and grandchildren, our home is filled with noise and laughter – the BEST medicine for healing! We have also received so many sweet messages and calls from friends checking in on Gil! Our church family has been such a blessing too!”
The family announced last month that Gil had a heart attack a few days after his son. guard married Kaybrie Bates for the second time. (Gil and Kelly Jo are parents to 19 children whom they welcomed after marrying in 1987.)
The medical emergency came after Gil occasionally felt an “unusual feeling in his chest” before deciding to go to the emergency room and was immediately “taken to a room.” [and] … he said he had a mild heart attack.”
