John Stamos gives heartbreaking update on Beach Boys singer Mike Love’s ‘serious’ health issues

John Stamos says his friend and mentor Mike Love is currently facing “serious” health issues.

“Getting on a plane to Nashville to play with the Beach Boys at the Ryman Auditorium, trying to put my feelings into words,” the “Full House” actor wrote on Instagram on Sunday, alongside two photos of himself with the Beach Boys frontman.

“My dear friend, father figure, musical hero, and mentor Mike Love is facing serious health issues,” Stamos added.

“We hope he gets to do what he loves for years to come, but we don’t know what the future holds. We have it tonight.”

The 63-year-old “ER” alum said Love, 85, is a “fighter” and “insists on being on stage” even though doctors warn her to “focus on her health.”

“He says he needs his band, the audience, his friends, and the drummer surrounding him to lift him up,” he wrote.

“I’ve been playing with Mike for 41 years. I never imagined that someone larger than life confronting something so human and fragile would affect me so deeply,” said Stamos, who has performed various shows with the Beach Boys since the ’80s.

“The Mike Love we see tonight may not be exactly the Mike we’ve always known. But he’s still the Mike we love in every way.”

Stamos later wrote that “the hardest part of loving someone” is “getting so used to the miracle of them being there that you forget it’s a miracle at all.”

“I want to appreciate every second without feeling like the seconds are slipping away,” he added.

“That’s what I’m giving him. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring. But we have tonight,” Stamos concluded.

Page Six reached out to Love’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Stamos’ message comes after a video of him performing with Love went viral on X.

In the clip, the “Good Vibrations” singer sat on stage and mimicked some of the “Fuller House” alum’s dance moves.

Over the summer, Love publicly discussed health and personal issues, including the death of her sister and her recovery from bronchitis and COVID-19, which she said took an “emotional and physical toll” on her.

Last month, the Beach Boys abruptly canceled several concerts just one day before they were scheduled to return to the road after a two-month hiatus.
