Selma Blair has a strange history of biting celebrities including Sienna Miller, Seth MacFarlane and Kate Moss before her violent in-flight incident on Sunday where she allegedly bit a flight attendant.
In her 2022 memoir, “Bad Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up,” Blair explains that her biting habit stemmed from feeling “overwhelmed” in public.
“My system gets overwhelmed and immediately short-circuits… Social interactions in my life were cumbersome,” Blair writes in the book.
He says he first fell in love with Sienna Miller after she introduced him to her fellow actress at the Chateau Marmont in 2006.
“I couldn’t hold a grudge against him for any part he won against me,” Blair writes. “So I grabbed her arm and playfully bit it as if it were an apple. Even as I held her arm in my mouth, I was horrified at myself. I thought, what have I gotten myself into? Or her? This is terrible behavior.”
Luckily, the “Cruel Intentions” star recalls that Miller felt “unembarrassed” by the incident and labeled her the “belle of the prom” for her reaction.
She also bit “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane, who was invited to a meeting in Las Vegas by his new friend Scarlett Johansson in 2004.
Blair, who has struggled with alcoholism in the past, says he was “star struck” when he met the author at a Vegas club.
“What should I do in public situations where I admire someone but feel like I’m not bringing anything to the party? I bit their hand. ‘Wow!’ he shouted. ‘That really hurt.’ This was not a disaster; I didn’t break the skin. But soon I began to hate myself,” Blair writes about the incident.
He also bit supermodel Kate Moss while she was hanging out with her and several others in a London hotel room after the Marc Jacobs fashion show.
The “Legally Blonde” actress recalls taking Polaroid photos with the model when Moss decided to take a bite out of her finger, which was met with laughter.
“And because he laughed, I did it again,” Blair writes. “The second time he didn’t laugh and said, ‘That really hurt!’ he exclaimed. The Calvin Klein model then punched Blair in the back and caught the actress’s thumb, “hitting her right in the face.”
“It was the first time I had a sense of how much I could hurt people when I bit them,” Blair continues. “I suddenly turned into an embarrassed kindergartener. ‘Oh my God,’ I whispered, ‘I’m so sorry.'”
The actress was arrested on October 11 for allegedly biting a flight attendant and punching another on a Delta Airlines flight to John F. Kennedy International Airport. He allegedly attacked crew members after trying to open the plane’s door during the flight.
The actress, who is recovering from multiple sclerosis, was reportedly handcuffed on the plane and arrested upon landing. In the 911 report obtained by TMZ, the pilot claimed that the “disturbing passenger” “hit his head on the bulkhead.”
Blair allegedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head while he was in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
When the actress was hospitalized, she allegedly assaulted a nurse who filed a complaint.
Sources said Blair, who also had a meltdown on his plane 10 years ago, was hit with multiple charges, including two counts of assault for kicking a police officer and attacking a nurse, as well as a separate charge related to the incident on the plane.
Her rep told Page Six: “Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged behavior. She received immediate medical attention after landing and is currently in stable condition.”
“Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or illegal behavior because the safety of our customers and crew always comes first,” a spokesperson for the airline told Page Six in a statement Monday.
The FBI is currently investigating the incident.
