Bill Belichick and Jordan Hudson reportedly “stepped back” due to their age gap so he could focus on his “first love,” football.
“Rather than let things get more complicated or resentment build,” Belichick, 74, and Hudson, 25, “mutually agreed” that a separation was the best thing for both of them, a source told the Daily Mail on Sunday.

“She was considering taking the next steps with him, getting engaged, married, and building a future together, while also dealing with the constant attention and outside scrutiny that comes with being in such a high-profile relationship,” the source said.
The insider claimed that public scrutiny was “becoming overwhelming” for both Belichick and Hudson, with Hudson finding that “their relationship was becoming bigger news than either of them wanted.”
The beauty queen allegedly even turned down career offers due to the spectacle surrounding the romance.
“Jordon had opportunities like ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and a few other outside projects, but everything surrounding their relationship seemed to be turning into a distraction and were reasons he wasn’t doing certain things,” the source said.
Belichick and Hudson reportedly “made a conscious decision not to tell anyone” when they split late last year to avoid “another media circus” before Belichick’s NFL season began.
But after TMZ broke the news of the split on Friday, Belichick now “must deal” with “a distraction at the worst possible time.”
“He would prefer this to remain private,” the source said. “This was definitely not the way he wanted this week to unfold.”
Despite the split, the source insisted there is “no bad blood whatsoever” between Belichick and Hudson, who is allegedly already seeing other people.
“They still care about each other, they still support each other, and they have no desire to turn their breakup into something ugly,” the insider said.
Page Six reached out to Belichick and Hudson for comment but did not hear back.
Belichick and Hudson first met on a flight in 2021 after signing textbooks.
They started dating a few years later and made their red carpet debut at the Museum Gala in New York City in December 2024.
During an interview with Tony Dokoupil for “CBS Sunday Morning” in April 2025, Hudson held off questions about the origins of their relationship.
“We don’t talk about it,” he said bluntly off camera.
The former New England Patriots head coach, meanwhile, called allegations that Hudson was overly involved in coaching duties “just outright lies.”
“There are some things he helps me plan or look at,” he shared.
As Page Six exclusively reported, Belichick wasn’t bothered by the age difference with Hudson when they were together.
“Jordon is an old soul, so he and Bill have a deep connection,” a source told us in December 2024. “Age is just a number to them.
“[They] Don’t listen to the haters because their relationship is the real deal.”
