King Charles III reportedly wants to shut down the “flight” between Prince William and Prince Harry to honor their late mother, Princess Diana.
The 30th anniversary of the late Princess of Wales’s death is notably next August, and the 77-year-old monarch has “expressed no objection” to a Thanksgiving service for his ex-wife, according to the Daily Mail.
Columnist Ephraim Hardcastle claimed on Thursday that the service “will be similar to the one at the Wellington Barracks Guards Chapel on the 10th anniversary in 2007, where his favorite music was played and Harry gave the eulogy.”
He noted that although the brothers “seem to have rejected the chance to work together,” a religious event could turn the tide.
Another source said the possibility, which is reportedly being seriously considered, could potentially “bring the brothers together.”
The person added: “This could be an inspiring way to remember Diana. William can celebrate his mother’s life by doing a reading.”
An insider said the option was “much more dignified” than the 44-year-old Prince of Wales, who is appearing in one of the many documentaries he has been asked to take part in.
Since Harry, 42, has made headlines for featuring one of himself in his works, any project William participates in “will inevitably be portrayed as a rival to anything Harry can do.”
But royal journalist Tom Sykes insisted to Page Six on Thursday that a meeting between William and Harry “will not happen.”
Representatives for Harry, William and Charles did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
The feuding brothers in particular have become estranged from each other, and this continues even after Harry moved to the United Kingdom with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children in August.
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Page Six last month that William had “washed his hands of” Harry.
“He has his own family to protect and his responsibilities as Prince of Wales,” he explained. “The presence of the Sussexes will always cause noise and distraction.”
William and Harry were last at the same event in 2024 for the funeral of their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes in Snettisham, Norfolk – but we hear they did not speak.
Before that, the duo teamed up to unveil the statue in the Kensington Palace garden to honor Diana’s 60th birthday in 2021.
Harry expressed his desire to reconcile with family members in an interview with the BBC in May 2025, five years after he and Markle, 45, left the United Kingdom and their royal roles.
At that time, he said, “I would love to make peace with my family. There is no point in fighting anymore, life is too precious,” and added, “I don’t know how long it will last.” [his] Dad” would be around.
The Duke of Sussex has been reunited with Charles, who publicly announced his cancer diagnosis in early 2024, on several occasions since then.
