2026-2027 Tony Awards Nominating Committee

The Tony Awards Management Committee announced the Nominating Committee for the 2026-27 Broadway season, with former Washington Post chief theater critic Peter Marks and playwrights José Rivera and Migdalia Cruz among the new members.

Each Broadway season, the Nominating Committee attends all eligible productions and meets to vote on that year’s Tony Award nominees. This year’s committee consists of 65 members who will serve three-year staggered terms.

Newcomers to the committee include Bonnie Becker, Keith Bunin, Bruce Coughlin, Migdalia Cruz, Scott Farthing, Wendall Harrington, Daniel K. Isaac, Mia Katigbak, Joyce Ketay, Michael Kooman, William Ivey Long, Khady Kamara Nunez, Jose Rivera, Linda Shelton, Rona Siddiqui, Pearl Sun, Sanaz Toossi, Allyson Tucker and Sam Willmott.

Presented by the Broadway League and the American Theater Wing, the Tony Awards are the highest honors in live theatre. The upcoming Broadway season will include productions such as “Paddington: The Musical”, Dolly Parton’s “Dolly”, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Warriors” and Jamie Lloyd’s “Evita” starring Rachel Zegler.

Last season’s Tonys movie, “Schmigadoon,” a comedy about a couple stranded in a magical town, won the best musical award. “Salvation,” an exploration of feminism and social change, won best play. Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman” won the award for best revival of a play, while “Ragtime” received the award for best revival of a musical. Acting awards went to John Lithgow (“Giant”), Lesley Manville (“Oedipus”), Joshua Henry (“Ragtime”), Caissie Levy (“Ragtime”), Laurie Metcalf (“Death of a Salesman”), among others.
