Tyra Banks doesn’t look back fondly on 2002’s “Halloween: Resurrection” — “not even a little bit” — because she claims producers cut most of the big death scene.
The “America’s Next Top Model” personality told “Entertainment Weekly” in an interview published Friday that she wasn’t even considering appearing in the horror sequel.
“I said, ‘I’m not going to do that. What’s it going to do for my career? I’m a model and I need to do things a little different to have the acting career I want,'” she recalled expressing to her agent her desire to repeat the career rise Josh Hartnett had after starring in “Halloween: H20” in 1998.
Banks recalled her manager telling her: “No, Josh Hartnett did ‘Halloween’ and look what he’s doing now!”
The “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” alum landed the small but important role of Nora, but the supermodel said it was a waste of time.
“I said, ‘Yeah, okay, this will work for me,'” Banks recalled of her decision to pursue the role.
“Not only did it do me no good, they also cut out the damn death scene,” he said. While Nora was killed by iconic sniper Michael Myers in the film, the actual murder took place mostly off-camera.
Without naming the manager, Banks said that “Josh Hartnett was promised a career as an actor and was promised an iconic death scene that would last forever, but neither of those things happened.”
The “Modelland” author, now 52, joked: “So it’s ‘Halloween 8!’ “I’m interested in”
Despite disappointing expectations for the horror sequel, Banks has had plenty of success in front of the camera.
She played an animated doll opposite Lindsey Lohan in 2000’s “Life Size” and starred alongside Piper Perabo and Maria Bello in “Coyote Ugly” the same year.
But it’s on the small screen where Banks truly dominates. In addition to chairing “America’s Next Top Model,” he also hosted “Dancing With the Stars” and appeared on “The View,” “Project Runway” and “Celebrity Watch Party.”
She hosted her own talk show, “The Tyra Banks Show,” from 2005 to 2010.
