It’s so hard to keep it together when you’ve come this far!
Ashley Padilla appeared on the Weekend Update episode of “Saturday Night Live” as an exhausted mom whose babysitter got canceled. Given the circumstances, troubled child Coco, played by new cast member Grace Reiter, had to join her.
When the mother is really trying, Really It seemed like Coco had other plans, as it was hard to bring cute fall ideas for the family to the table.
“He was my little buddy tonight because someone wasn’t getting along with the babysitter,” the mom said on the Oct. 10 episode.
Coco adds that she “broke another one” with the sinister look in her eyes.
In the sketch, the exhausted mom tries to share some sweet activities, like pressing leaves into a book, one of her “favorites.”
“Mom picks a book and Coco goes and brings a beautiful orange and red leaf from the garden,” the mother says.
But Coco shares how activity has actually dropped.
“I fell into a pile of leaves and for a day no one knew where I was,” Coco says.
As the two bicker, things get really complicated when Coco claims she’s been missing for a long time and hasn’t had dinner. According to Coco, the pizza her mother ate doesn’t count because she “didn’t like it.”
And my mother is losing it.
The mother screams and says, “It doesn’t matter if you don’t like it.” “If you eat it, it’s still dinner. You ate it all, and this is dinner because you ate it.”
Mom tries to share another cool activity: making dried apple dolls.
“And fun fact: We picked up the apples just this weekend from a beautiful local apple orchard,” says the mom.
Coco, of course, has something to add.
“My mom stuck me in a corn maze for three hours so she could kiss a farmer,” she says.
Let’s hope mom finally finds a babysitter worthy of Coco. He deserves a break.
