Bob Dylan Met Pope Leo and the Internet Can’t Get Over the Rocker’s Outfit

Bobby D. wore his best on Sunday to meet Pope Leo XIV.

The Vatican’s official Instagram account shared a photo of the pope with legendary musician Bob Dylan, who met with a “private audience” on November 4.

And while the meeting of two high-profile figures alone would have been enough to catch fans’ attention, it was Dylan’s ensemble (a pitch black hoodie, paired with an equally dark jacket and pants) that actually stole the show.

“Dylan innovates again as the first to wow a Pope in a hoodie,” one person wrote of the look on Instagram.

Dylan had stopped by the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace, the pope’s official residence, between Italian concert dates on his worldwide “Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour.”

According to the Vatican, the pope presented the Nobel Prize-winning musician with a rosary, and Dylan reciprocated the gesture by gifting Pope Leo a copy of his autobiography, “Chronicles: Volume One.”

But most of the internet seemed stuck on Dylan’s hoodie.

“Why is Bob Dylan dressed as the Grim Reaper?” one fan asked on Instagram. he wrote.

Some have drawn comparisons between Dylan and the famous “Star Wars” villain Emperor Palpatine.

“At first glance I thought it was Palpatine,” another commenter wrote.

It appears the Pope has been a fan of Dylan for some time. He even quoted the artist in his book “Disarmament and Disarmament: Peace is a Gift”, published in July.

In the front part of the book, there is a reference to the lyrics of Dylan’s unreleased 1963 song “Go Away You Bomb”.

The visit marks the second meeting between Dylan and the sitting Pope.
