Crystal Hefner asks Jessica Biel to ‘reconsider’ playing Hugh Hefner’s wife in upcoming ‘Playboy’ movie

Crystal Hefner implored Jessica Biel to “reconsider” her role as Hugh Hefner’s wife in the upcoming movie “Playmates.”

“If this movie wants to romanticize her or the Playboy world, please reconsider playing Hugh Hefner’s ‘wife,'” the “Girl Next Door” alum, who was married to the Playboy president from 2012 to 2017, wrote in a direct message to Biel on Instagram. he wrote.

“I was essentially his wife and I was subjected to sexual, emotional, financial and physical abuse in that relationship,” she claimed.

“Many other women have also come forward with allegations of rape, coercion, drug use and abuse,” Crystal, 40, continued.

“There are also deep concerns about minors. I hope everyone involved in this movie takes the time to listen to the women who lived this movie before helping Hollywood turn it into nostalgia.”

Crystal recently shed light on her marriage to Hugh, revealing on the “Nobody Asked Her” podcast in August how she was “completely brainwashed” while at the Playboy Mansion and under the supervision of 70 employees.

“And I thought I was crazy because all the media put Hef in such a place that I thought, ‘Okay, if they all see him as this incredible, amazing person, there must be something wrong with me,'” the host told Firerose.

Crystal claimed in her 2024 memoir, “Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself,” that Hugh tried to control her by telling her to lose weight and what to wear.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Biel, 44, will step into the role of Hugh’s wife in the film, which will be directed by Lorraine Nicholson.

Biel’s character will be fictional, although she was married three times before Hugh’s death in 2017.

Apart from Crystal, Hugh was also married to Millie Williams from 1949 to 1959 and Kimberley Conrad from 1989 to 2010.

The “Sinner” star, who is married to Justin Timberlake, will star opposite Bill Pullman as Hugh, but the film’s story is not a biopic or centers on the latter.

The film follows actresses Indiana Elle as Elle and Lily-Rose Depp as Anna, two Playboy Mansion playmates.

Hugh published the first issue of Playboy featuring Marilyn Monroe in 1953. He quickly found success and hosted the show “Playboy’s Penthouse” in the late 1950s.

The original Playboy mansion was purchased in Chicago in 1959, but Hugh later moved to Los Angeles and purchased another property in the 1970s.

Hugh continued his success over the years, and in 2005, E! The reality series “Girls Next Door” ran for six seasons until 2010.

The businessman died on September 27, 2017, at the age of 91, due to heart attack and respiratory failure.
