Halle Berryex girlfriend Olivier Martinez She accuses the actor of abusing their 12-year-old son, Maceo, and seeks a temporary restraining order against him.
According to court documents obtained We On Thursday, Oct. 1, Martinez, 60, filed for a domestic violence restraining order. Martinez claimed an alleged incident took place on Sept. 26 between Maceo and Berry, 60. According to Martinez, Maceo called her and asked to be picked up from Berry’s home because he had allegedly “physically attacked her and strangled her.”
“While I was talking to our son on the phone, I heard him panicking and [Berry] Martinez claimed he was still yelling at her in the background. “When I come [Berry] I didn’t leave the house but [her] our partner helped carry our son’s back to my car.”
Martinez claimed Berry “texted” him the next morning to apologize for the alleged incident.
Martinez also claimed that this was not the first instance of harassment allegations between Maceo and Berry. He accused Berry of attacking Maceo “without provocation” and claimed that he allegedly forced him into a “chokehold” while he was training in “mixed martial arts.”
Maceo allegedly told his mother he “hated” her bringing him to practice, but Berry “downplayed the incident.” Maceo also allegedly told his father that he wanted to “kick Berry’s ass” the next time the alleged incident occurred, but Martinez told him that “a son should never fight with his mother.”
“The way I was raised, I believe that a physical fight should never occur between a mother and son, so I discouraged our son from escalating his conflict with his mother to physical violence,” Martinez said. “Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened last Saturday. [Maceo] “He had to physically fight his mother to escape.”
Martinez claimed that since the alleged fight, Maceo “did not want to spend time” at Berry’s home and appeared “traumatized by the incident.”
Martinez requested a restraining order against Berry for herself and Maceo, asking that the exes’ 50-50 custody arrangement be temporarily changed to a “no contact order.”
“I don’t want to permanently cut off our relationship with our son. [Berry] but I don’t believe they should interact with each other [Berry] Martinez stated that he could take adequate responsibility for his actions.
In addition to the restraining order, Martinez wants Berry to undergo a psychological evaluation as well as a drug and alcohol screening.
Berry’s lawyer, Marina Beck, addressed Martinez’s allegations in her statement. We.
“To say that this application is completely meritless and deliberately misleading would be an understatement,” the statement said. “There is ample evidence, including multiple judicial decisions, that Olivier Martinez repeatedly violated court orders and interfered with necessary treatment and educational interventions to the detriment of his and Halle Berry’s infant son, Maceo, an abuse for which Mr. Martinez is already legally sanctioned.”
The statement continued: “In one sense, today’s appeal is not entirely unexpected from an individual with a well-documented history of erratic, possessive and violent behavior. Fortunately, Halle is accustomed to such outrageous behavior from Mr. Martinez, and while she is deeply saddened, she will not let this deter her from fighting for Maceo’s best interests and providing him with the love and support he needs.”
Berry and Martinez married in July 2013 after three years of dating. Three months later, the duo welcomed Maceo. In October 2015, Martinez and Berry separated after two years of marriage. The exes are embroiled in a legal battle over divorce and custody arrangements. Their divorce was finalized in August 2023, seven years after they were declared legally single in December 2016.
