Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that she had an awkward interaction with Bradley Cooper while filming her “big makeout session” at the end of “Silver Linings Playbook.”
“’Aren’t you that tired of kissing?’ I said. And he didn’t like it,’” Lawrence, 36, recalled on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Dad” podcast on Wednesday.
“But I think he laughed,” the 51-year-old added of Bradley.
Lawrence said this conversation was “one of those moments where you say, ‘Isn’t that right?’ And the other person goes, ‘Oh.'”
Regardless, Lawrence shared that the interaction was one of her favorite memories from the making of the 2012 Oscar-winning film; In this film, she played a young widow who falls in love with a recently divorced widow with bipolar disorder (played by Bradley).
Lawrence admitted on the podcast that she was “definitely nervous” when she met Bradley for the first time.
“He was in the movie ‘The Hangover.’ He was the biggest celebrity I think I met at that time,” he said. “And I said, ‘Watch this. Hold my beer.'”
For the film, directed by David O’Russell, Lawrence said that while she acted “confident” in her dancing skills, she thought her moves were actually “very bad”.
“After filming was over, I had to do ADR to say, ‘Yeah, I’m not that good of a dancer, but I like it, it’s fun, it makes me happy,’ because my dancing was so bad and it had to be explained in the movie,” he shared.
Lawrence added: “If you had put a gun to my head while I was shooting, I would have said, ‘I’m really good. I’m a great dancer.'”
Elsewhere in the podcast, Lawerence explained that he didn’t think the film, which grossed over $236 million worldwide and earned eight Oscar nominations, would be this successful.
“You’ll never really make it unless you do ‘The Hunger Games’ or something like that,” he said. “But no.”
Lawrence later joked, “And I always felt like I didn’t understand it. Like, what is this movie about?”
Lawrence and Bradley formed a close bond working together on “Silver Linings Playbook” and reunited on the big screen for 2013’s “American Hustle,” 2014’s “Serena” and 2015’s “Joy.”
“I love him,” Lawrence said during a 2015 red carpet Q&A. [‘Serena’]. “So any male role will remind me of Bradley because to me he’s the best and I love working with him.”
Bradley said he has “so much respect for Lawrence as a professional and as an actor, and I think he’s the best there is.”
“And I’m learning from him too,” he added. “You always want to work with people who are better than you.”
