Nebula’s original series “Jet Lag: The Game” returns to theaters for the Season 20 premiere of the travel competition.
In partnership with Regal, Picturehouse, Cineworld and Landmark Cinemas in the US, UK and Canada, the 90-minute premiere of “Jet Lag: The Game” Season 20 “Hide + Seek: Italy” will premiere on more than 160 theater screens in three countries on December 5. Tickets for the event will go on sale today, November 5.
The upcoming event represents the series’ largest international theatrical release to date, following the Season 19 “Japanorama” premiere at Picturehouse Cinemas in London in August, followed by the international rollout of the Season 19 finale at Regal, Picturehouse and Cineworld locations in October.
An on-screen quiz experience will be available in select theaters ahead of the Season 2 premiere of “Jet Lag: The Game.”
“Jet Lag: The Game,” one of independent publisher Nebula’s most popular original series, has seen competitions in Japan, New Zealand, Europe, Australia and North America throughout its first 19 seasons. “Jet Lag: The Game” stars series creators Sam Denby, Ben Doyle and Adam Chase, as well as rotating guest contestants.
According to Nebula’s statement for the new season, “In ‘Hide + Seek: Italy’, the 20th season of Jet Lag: The Game, kids face off in a six-day game of Hide + Seek across Italy, exploring scenic seaside towns, medieval mountain villages and rugged Roman hills. But this season is no holiday: the classic Hide and Seek format has been upgraded to ‘Expert Mode’ and the game’s most powerful questions have been removed and New mechanics designed to punish have been added. In the season premiere, Sam relaxes on the beach while Ben and Adam wrestle with new Expert Mode questions.
“The magic of ‘Jet Lag’ is community, so it’s a real pleasure to work with our friends at Picturehouse, Regal, Cineworld and Landmark to bring this community together in the real world,” said Nebula founder Dave Wiskus.
“Our first Jet Lag: The Game theatrical event demonstrated the potential to bring an established digital audience to the theater,” said Brooks LeBoeuf, Regal’s senior vice president of U.S. content. “Nebula has built one of the most engaged fan bases in the creator world, and that enthusiasm has translated directly into theatrical demand. ‘Hide + Seek Italy’ builds on this momentum, and we look forward to welcoming our fans back to experience the series together on the big screen.”
