Johnny Depp enjoyed a snack of decorative greenery at a party in Las Vegas over the weekend.
In confusing footage from Park MGM’s party for Depp’s rum brand Three Hearts at Drink Las Vegas on Saturday night, the 63-year-old “Pirates of the Caribbean” star held a drink in one hand as he posed for photographers in a brown wide-brimmed hat and dark outfit.
He wore a loose bandana around his neck, a pair of tinted glasses, and heavy rings on seemingly every finger.
At one point, the “Edward Scissorhands” actor stopped and walked toward a step-repeat wall covered in fake greenery to bury his face in artificial plants.
He emerged with a leaf he was chewing while the photographers continued taking pictures.
Depp spat out the leaf and turned to the wall for another mouthful, this time lifting his drink and smiling for more photos as two leaves emerged from between his teeth.
In another clip, she clinked glasses and chatted happily with onlookers at the event. In another, Depp sat at a table and continued chatting with guests.
The view comes as Depp continues to nurture his career comeback following his highly publicized defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.
In July, the actor made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con dressed as Charles Dickens’ iconic Christmas miser to promote his upcoming film “Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol.”
The actor looked almost unrecognizable with his prosthetics, bushy eyebrows and gray beard. At the event, she posed in what appeared to be a re-creation of the upcoming film’s snowy set.
In August, producer Jerry Jerry Bruckheimer told Deadline at Disney’s D23 convention that Depp could reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for the “Pirates of the Caribbean” sequel.
Bruckheimer told the press: “We’re talking to Johnny, we’re working on a script and hopefully we can pull it off.”
Some insiders revealed to the press that the sixth film in the series will revolve around Margot Robbie’s heroine and Depp’s Captain Jack will appear as a supporting character.
As for the leaf-eating incident, Depp once admitted that he doesn’t look at things the way most people do.
“I’m fascinated by many of the things that are considered normal and accepted as just fine in life,” he laughingly told Charlie Rose in 2013. “Because these seem like strange things to me.”
