Kim Kardashian has spoken of the “huge burden” of co-parenting with ex-husband Kanye West and admitted she will “always worry” about the rapper despite their rocky relationship.
The 46-year-old reality star got candid about their complex dynamic in “Citizen Who: The Woman Who Created the Future,” an authorized biography by journalist Jonathan Van Meter, who interviewed Kardashian and those close to her between 2018 and 2026.
“Oh, I’m worried [Kanye] all day. Always. “He’s the father of my children, I’ll never worry about him,” she said in the book, according to Us Weekly.
“And that’s a huge burden of having a child with someone you don’t really get along with. My kids will never know that,” she added.
The SKIMS founder was married to the 49-year-old “Strong” star from 2014 until their divorce was finalized in 2022. They share North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.
Despite their past disagreements, Kardashian said the former couple has managed to maintain co-parenting relatively peacefully.
“It’s been pretty quiet for a while now. I think it’s because we don’t talk too much. But when we see each other, we hug,” he said.
Kardashian admitted that she’s trying to get through “all the negative things that have happened” by maintaining boundaries. He also emphasized that he wants his children to have a strong relationship with their father.
“I want them to think their dad is the best,” he said.
The mother of four revealed that West remains close to his family and maintains an open-door policy for the rapper, even inviting him to spend time at his home.
“Anytime you’re in town, come to dinner with us, see the kids as much as you want, take them out, come hang out. This is their family. So I highly encourage their relationship with their dad,” she said.
Kardashian also offered West the chance to have dinner or spend the night at her children’s house, even if she had to leave for West’s comfort.
“Do you want to come for dinner? I’m going to leave the house. Come and have dinner with the kids at their house so they can feel comfortable. Can you sleep here for a few nights?”
The former couple even spent Christmas together last year; Kardashian had invited West to stay one night on Christmas Eve and bring his wife, Bianca Censori, with him.
“Last Christmas, I said, ‘Sleep here on Christmas Eve. Bring your girlfriend. I’m easy! ‘Let’s all spend Christmas together,'” he recalled.
Kardashian said she plans to make the same invitation this holiday season.
“And that’s what I’m going to recommend this year, too. I’m going to sweep everything under the rug, all the terrible things he said about me, so the kids can see their dad,” she said.
The reality star admitted that she remains concerned about West’s well-being, saying that West “always seems to be pulling himself together” but that watching him struggle makes her sad.
“And I don’t think it will get better. I pray for it to get better. For my children,” he said.
Kardashian added that she communicated with West through Censori and the rapper’s manager.
West addressed his diagnosis of bipolar disorder and apologized for his anti-Semitic comments in a Wall Street Journal ad in January.
Earlier this month, Kardashian also revealed that she employed five nannies to help care for her four children.
