Maxx Crosby Makes Crazy Claim About Patrick Mahomes Groaning

According to the Las Vegas Raiders superstar Maxx CrosbyKansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes He can be quite vocal on the field when things are not going his way.

During “The Rush with Maxx Crosby” podcast on Tuesday, October 6, Crosby, 29, was asked if Mahomes, 31, “makes a noise when you tackle him.”

The defensive end responded by making a strange guttural sound and told his co-host: Brogan Roback“Maybe.”

“Don’t say ‘groan,'” Roback, 32, said. “Just don’t say that word.”

Crosby smiled and replied, “There’s no other words, so really… You can’t pause it. But it was a great fight.”

The five-time Pro Bowler was referring to the Chiefs’ 30-27 victory over the Raiders on Sunday, Oct. 4 in Las Vegas; Meanwhile, Crosby made three steals and hit Mahomes five times.

“It’s so funny, every time I hit him he flips over and then he looks at me,” Crosby said on the podcast. “It’s my face all the time, and I just look at it. But it’s respect, bro. He’s the best quarterback of our generation, you know what I mean?”

He continued, “For me, I want to be seen as the best at my position. When you have two division rivals that are willing to go the extra mile to win, I think it makes for great fun and great competition.”

Crosby recalled Mahomes “kicking some hard ass.”

“I said, ‘Hold the ball another half second,’ a couple of times,” Crosby said, noting that he hit Mahomes “a couple of times” and wasn’t sure if the quarterback managed to clear the ball.

“You don’t know, you’re going too fast,” he said.

Mahomes led the Chiefs to a perfect 4-0 start to the season, bouncing back from his season-ending leg injury in December 2025. Despite the Raiders’ first defeat of the season, the Las Vegas team is off to a surprising 3-1 start, winning just three games in all of last season.

The two teams will meet again in Kansas City on January 10 to close out the regular season.

After touting Sunday’s win, Mahomes said he “had to use my best football to get the win.”

“It’s a great stadium, it really is,” Mahomes said of Allegiant Stadium, home of the Raiders. “It’s great, there are always great games played here and Chiefs Kingdom travels well. I always feel so proud when I play my best football here.”
