Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have quietly scaled back their Archewell Productions company as their Hollywood venture continues to face difficulties.
“They have laid off staff over the last 12 to 18 months,” a source told Page Six exclusively.
According to insider information, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s company now consists of just a handful of employees at their Raleigh Studios offices in Los Angeles.
The staff reductions affected production crews hired to work on projects such as “With Love, Meghan” and “Harry & Meghan” and not full-time employees of Archewell Productions, Page Six has learned.
Despite downsizing and the couple moving back to England, Archewell Productions continues to maintain its Hollywood office.
According to insider information, employees are still coming and going from the building.
Representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
The staff reductions come at a time when questions are mounting about the Sussex family’s Hollywood ambitions and their business dealings with Netflix.
The couple founded Archewell Productions in 2020 after stepping down from their roles as senior working members of the royal family.
The company has gone on to produce several projects for Netflix, including the couple’s 2022 docuseries “Harry & Meghan” and Markle’s lifestyle series “With Love, Meghan.”
While “Harry & Meghan” aired as a six-episode limited series, “With Love, Meghan” was not renewed for a third season, but the possibility of future specials has not been ruled out.
But their partnership with the streaming service has faced scrutiny over behind-the-scenes tensions and questions about the performance of their projects.
In March, Variety reported that Archewell Productions was struggling to deliver successful shows and its relationship with Netflix was becoming increasingly strained.
Page Six previously reported that two of the couple’s highly anticipated Netflix movie projects remain in limbo, raising further questions about the future of their partnership with the streaming giant.
The reported staff reductions at Archewell Productions follow previously announced cuts at the couple’s separate charity.
As Page Six reported in December 2025, three employees were laid off from Archewell Philanthropies, formerly known as the Archewell Foundation, as part of a restructuring aimed at reducing operating costs.
A spokesman acknowledged at the time that staff reductions were “inevitable” as the organization underwent changes.
However, these cuts involved the couple’s philanthropic activities rather than Hollywood production companies.
Meanwhile, Harry, 42, and Markle, 45, have been spending more time in the UK after deciding to move from their sprawling Montecito, California, property.
Despite the move, the Sussexes continued to pursue business opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic.
The duo took their first official joint trip on Thursday after returning to England.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex departed in Nottingham around 10:35 a.m., with Markle telling one well-wishers it was “great to be back.”
