podcaster Megyn Kelly hit Olivia Rodrigo Cornell University for weighing in on the gang rape case.
After Rodrigo, 23, shared an Instagram Story on Sunday, Oct. 4, condemning the university over a former female student’s sexual assault allegations against seven fraternities, Kelly, 55, did not mince words the next day.
“Olivia, in short, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Shut up and keep singing,” said the first. Fox News the anchor said during an episode of the “Megyn Kelly Show” podcast on Monday, October 5. “I liked you better when you were singing your weird little depressing songs in front of a microphone.”
The journalist continued, “It’s better to keep your mouth shut and let people suspect you’re an idiot than to open your mouth and prove them right. Have you ever heard that saying? It goes for you too, honey. We don’t need the participation of clueless idiots who are automatically tuned to fame and suddenly think they have something deep to say about the culture wars.”
Rodrigo’s Instagram Story read: “Shame on Cornell and all the institutions that protect rapists and abusers of women. I stand with Jane Doe. Her bravery resonates across the country and the crimes committed against her will not go unpunished. Her experience matters, as does the failure of those who could have intervened but chose not to. She deserves answers, consequences, and lasting change.” (The former student was identified under the pseudonym Jane Doe during a civil lawsuit filed against Cornell University on September 16.)
Tompkins County District Attorney on September 29 Matthew Van HoutenThe person who restarted the investigation spoke People About Doe’s lawsuit, which alleges she was brutally assaulted by men for at least seven hours in 2024, even though she was never charged.
