Miles Teller Will Be Honored at Newport Beach Film Festival

Miles Teller will be awarded the Outstanding Artist Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival.

He will be presented with a plaque at the festival’s annual Pride ceremony on October 18.

“Miles Teller brings extraordinary dedication to every role he takes on,” said Gregg Schwenk, CEO and executive director of the Newport Beach Film Festival. “He consistently delivers outstanding performances in both major blockbusters and character-driven independent films, and we are excited to celebrate his career in Newport Beach.”

Teller’s new film will star alongside Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson in James Gray’s thriller “Paper Tiger.” The film follows two brothers who become involved in a dangerous criminal underworld. The film will be screened at the Newport Beach Film Festival on October 18. Neon, the film will be released in theaters on November 13.

Teller’s credits include his role as Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw in Paramount’s “Top Gun: Maverick,” his breakthrough role in Damien Chazelle’s “Whiplash” and his role as producer Al Ruddy in the miniseries “The Offer.” Teller’s other recent credits include A24’s “Eternity,” Apple TV+’s “The Gorge” and series such as “The Spectacular Now,” “Only the Brave” and “Bleed for This.” He is currently in production on the crime thriller “Copperhead.”

Teller joins previously announced Newport Beach Film Festival honorees KJ Apa, Sosie Bacon, Gemma Chan, Jonás Cuarón, Sarah Finn, Mckenna Grace, Justin Hartley, Taraji P. Henson and Jack O’Connell.

The festival will take place between 15-22 October. In addition to “Paper Tiger,” this year’s program also includes screenings of “Talent for Murder,” “Behemoth!”, “Ink,” “Josephine,” “La Bola Negra,” “The Only Pickpocket Living in New York” and “Wild Horse Nine.”
