Big news for “Naruto” fans: the series is getting a new anime TV series, and author Masashi Kishimoto is releasing another “Naruto” manga titled “Shadow Rising.”
The new anime series will be a crossover with the popular manga “NINKŪ” and will be overseen by both Kishimoto and “NINKŪ” creator Koji Kiriyama.
According to the description of the upcoming “NARUTOxNINKŪ” anime, “Team 7 members Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura are given a mission by Kakashi. Since Kakashi cannot take the mission himself, Naruto is appointed as the leader. As a result of this decision, Naruto becomes fully motivated to make the mission a success. However, on the way, Team 7 find themselves lost in another world. Appearing in front of the confused trio is a boy with a frog-like face and a frog-like name. Fūsuke. What is happening to them in this strange new world?” waiting?
The news was announced at the “Naruto” panel held at New York Comic Con on Saturday, which concluded with the announcement of the new “Naruto” manga “Shadow Rising.” This announcement came at the very end of the panel, with a promotional video stating that more details would be shared during Jump Festa 2027 in December.
During the panel, a message was also shared from “Naruto” live-action movie director Destin Daniel Cretton, giving more information about the upcoming movie.
“When we began our worldwide quest for Team 7 this summer, I talked about what an honor it was to bring Kishimoto-sensei’s incredible world and characters to life,” Cretton wrote. “The more I continue to make this movie, the more excited I get about what we’ve created. What I’ve always loved about Naruto is that he’s a character who might otherwise be dismissed as sidekick. He’s exciting, he tries hard, and people underestimate him. But he has an incredible heart. No matter how many times he fails or gets knocked down, he never stops believing in himself or fighting for the people he loves. That spirit is at the heart of our story. These characters mean so much to so many people, including me, and I have that with me as we make this movie.” We’re approaching the world, relationships, and journeys that Kishimoto-sensei created with great care, and we want to capture what makes ‘Naruto’ so special. We’re working hard and will have more to share soon. Until then, thank you for your passion, patience, and companionship.
