Scrubs just introduced a new development and a surprise shake-up in JD and Elliot’s relationship following an off-screen breakup.
“I have no idea what the writers are planning.” Sarah ChalkeThe person playing Elliot was specifically told We. “I really don’t know. I’m just not giving spoilers. I actually don’t know the answer to that question, but I definitely hope we’ll shoot more episodes to find out.”
On the Wednesday, November 4 episode of the ABC show, JD (Zach Braff) She invited Elliot to dinner, which turned into them discussing reconciliation. They returned home to their son, and the scene eventually turned out to be a fantasy scene in JD’s mind.
“[If J.D. had asked Elliot out]I think he would say yes. I don’t know if he thought he meant to get into that. We’re starting to see them mending [things] and they figured it out,” said the 50-year-old actor. We. “They’re crushing it in the world of co-parenting, and they work together, they really care about each other, they support each other, and they’ve found a way to make it work.”
But Chalke is keeping an open mind about what happens next, adding, “With JD coming back to the hospital, he gets his spark back and he’s back to his old self. That’s who he fell in love with. So it definitely leaves room for them to start questioning.”
He continued: “But I thought the methodology in this episode was very clever. I thought it was great about JD’s patient struggling with dementia and him climbing up to the ceiling to join her and comfort her. Then we go inside her mind for a much longer fantasy sequence than you’ve ever seen on the show.”
ScrubsOriginally aired from 2001 to 2010, it followed the lives of employees at the fictional teaching hospital Sacred Heart. The original series ended with J.D. and Elliot as a married couple, but the revival rocked their relationship.
“I was really excited about the starting point. It was very smart of them not to start a marriage while they were raising their children,” Chalke recalled. “There would be a lot more room for comedy and drama if they got divorced and had to work at the same hospital. Then I assumed there would be some different twists and turns in their relationship, including Scrubs.”
Looking ahead, Chalke is keeping an open mind about Elliot’s love life – especially now that Sean (Scott Foley) It is not clear after JD’s girlfriend starts dating Charlie (Rachel Bilson).
“[She needs] Someone like Scott, who can bring out Elliot’s excitement that translates into physical comedy; [it] “It would definitely be my favorite because it’s personally my favorite thing to do,” he shared, adding, “It was so much fun to do it all again.”
Scrubs It airs on ABC Wednesdays at 8pm ET and airs on Hulu the following day.
