It’s that time of year again when music’s biggest stars take the stage at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.
The annual awards ceremony returns on Sunday, September 27, and will highlight some of the biggest artists, songs and performances as voted on by fans over the past year. Snoop Dogg is hosting this year’s festivities in Los Angeles for the first time; There are other notable awards presenters like Teyana Taylor and Charli xcx.
Madonna leads this year’s nominations with 11 nominations, followed by Taylor Swift with nine nominations, and Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande with seven nominations. The VMAs will also welcome 26 nominees to the show this year, including Olivia Dean, Noah Kahan, and Yung Lean.
In addition to awards, the night will also feature star-studded performances. Among those on stage are Madonna, who opened the night, Sienna Spiro, Lisa and Shaboozey.
At this year’s ceremony, two music legends will be honored with special tribute performances. Kacey Musgraves will pay tribute to late country singer Dolly Parton, while RAYE, Sombr and Teddy Swims will pay tribute to artist George Michael.
