Amy Poehler Tells Noah Wyle ‘The Pitt’ Needs More Romance

Amy Poehler talked to Noah Wyle about both “ER” and “The Pitt” following his selection as People’s Sexiest Man Alive on Tuesday’s episode of the “Good Hang” podcast. She also used her time with the actor to provide feedback on the lack of romance on the latest of the popular medical show.

“You’re not asking me for feedback on ‘The Pitt,’ but I’m going to give you some feedback,” Poehler began. “If you’re going to show this much guts and blood, if you’re going to go there – and your makeup team is incredible. What you do is bananas. I don’t watch most of it. I close my eyes but, I mean, I can’t stand it – But if you’re going to show this much, you’ve got to kiss a little every time. Someone’s got to kiss a little.”

Unconvinced, Wyle responded: “Oh, you think it’s a one-on-one?” “One on one, just a little kiss,” Poehler continued. “It’s only half the day [smooch]!” Wyle remained unmoved, but said he would “maybe” discuss the “four-to-one ratio, but certainly not one-to-one.” Poehler concluded: “You’ve got to show your guts, you’ve got to show some ass.” (Wyle noted that they showed butts in “The Pitt” and not just in romantic contexts.)

Wyle starred as disgruntled doctor Dr. for two seasons on HBO’s drama “The Pitt.” He played Michael “Robby” Robinavitch. His role as the doctor earned him a Golden Globe for best performance by an actor in a television series in 2026, a drama award in 2026, and back-to-back Emmy awards for best performance by an actor in a drama series in both 2025 and 2026.

Season 3 of the popular medical drama will premiere in January 2027 and will feature Dr. It will follow Robby’s first day back at work after his three-month leave at the end of Season 2.
