Politico Plans Live Video Coverage of Midterm Elections

Politico is not leaving live video coverage of the midterm elections to the usual suspects.

The political news channel will air “Politico Elections Live” on Tuesday, November 3, starting at 9 p.m., where five top journalists will analyze the real-time results. The program will be broadcast on Politico.com and the Politico app, as well as on YouTube.

The panel includes Politico “Playbook” co-authors Adam Wren, Dasha Burns and Will Steakin, as well as veteran political columnist Jonathan Martin. and senior managing editor Alex Burns. Panelists will share more than race calls, draw on the channel’s nationwide coverage, share what they’re hearing from sources, and explain to viewers what the results mean for the country’s politics in the coming weeks.

“Election night is when the Politico audience wants more than a scoreboard. Our reporters have spent this cycle in constant contact with candidates and campaigns across states,” Jonathan Greenberger, Politico’s global editor-in-chief, said in a statement. “‘Politico Elections Live’ puts our audience in the room with them as the results come in, with a sharp read on what the night means now and for 2028.”

The live coverage will include a mid-season broadcast cycle in which Politico journalists travel around the country and report their findings on shows like “On the Road” with Jonathan Martin and “Conversation with Dasha Burns,” presented by Meta. Both visited swing states as part of their reports. Politico has placed a new emphasis on video podcasts in recent months to showcase its journalists who often contribute to mainstream news outlets.
