Anne Hathaway says she’s learned to “calm down” in her career and credits Rihanna for inspiring her maternity style

After a busy year starring in five films, Anne Hathaway reveals how her career has changed.

Hathaway told “CBS Mornings” co-host Gayle King that she had “no idea” she would have five movies released this year, adding that she was worried it would be “a little bit” too much for people. Hathaway’s latest movie, “Verity,” will be released on Friday.

“It takes a lot of people looking at you for a long time, but then I thought to myself: ‘What if everything turns out better than you could have imagined?'” Hathaway said.

Looking back on her career, Hathaway said she learned to “calm down” and become “more open to fun.”

“It’s really just about the emotion and connection you have with other people. I wish I had figured this out earlier in my life, but I’m so grateful that I did,” Hathaway said.

Adopting the pregnant style

Anna Hathaway credited Rihanna with inspiring her maternity look during back-to-back press tours, saying the music star “changed the game.”

“When I saw what she was doing with her maternity style, I realized I needed to use my imagination and get out there and have more fun,” Hathaway said.

Hathaway said she is weeks away from welcoming her third child with husband Adam Shulman.

“We’re excited. We’re overjoyed. What we’re really focused on right now is actually just coming to terms with being a family of four, because things are going to change for us, but it’s also really going to change for our kids. We’re about to cross this beautiful threshold together,” Hathaway said.

Her “spooky and frightening” role in “Verity”

Hathaway said collaboration was crucial when making “Verity,” the psychological thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel. Hathaway plays Verity Crawford, a famous writer who becomes incapacitated after an accident.

“When I knew my work would be very still within the frame and I wouldn’t have the ability to move, act, and work with the audience, collaboration became everything,” he said, adding that the little details in each scene became important.

Hathaway said they “jumped in with both feet and figured out how to make these shots creepy and spooky.”
