Co-Founder Nate Bolotin Will Leave XYZ Films

Co-founder Nate Bolotin is leaving XYZ Films after nearly two decades with the studio. Diversity can reveal specifically.

Bolotin founded the brand in 2008 with partners Nick Spicer and Aram Tertzakian. Since its founding, XYZ has grown into a global film studio encompassing production, financing, international sales and distribution.

“Nate has been a trusted partner and friend since the company’s founding,” XYZ Films said in a statement. “Our entire team recognizes and appreciates the contributions he has made over the last eighteen years, and we have grown from a scrappy start to the company we are today. We are excited to see what he does next.”

XYZ Films continues to be overseen by CEO Spicer, COO Maxime Cottray and Chief Creative Officer Tertzakian. Key executives include President of Film Guy Danella, Vice President of Sales and Acquisitions Pip Ngo, and Senior Vice President of Sales and Purchasing Marie Garrett.

XYZ’s upcoming productions include A24’s “Flesh of the Gods,” starring Kristen Stewart and Wagner Moura, directed by Panos Cosmatos; “Egg Baby,” starring Ariana Greenblatt, directed by Natalia Anderson, from Amazon MGM Studios; “Banquet,” starring Meghann Fahy and directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia; and “The Girlfriend,” directed by Natalie Morales, starring Glenn Howerton, Meghann Fahy and Rosario Dawson.

Previous XYZ works include Gareth Evans’ “The Raid” (2012) and “The Raid 2” (2014); “The Invitation” by Karyn Kusama (2016); “Under the Shadow” (2016) by Babak Anvari; “I Don’t Feel At Home in This World Anymore” by Macon Blair (2017); “Mandy” (2018) by Panos Cosmatos; Joe “Arctic” (2019); and Matt Johnson’s “BlackBerry” (2023).
