Meghan Markle and Malala Yousafzai were spilling the tea for a good cause.
“‘When we support the girls of today, we empower the women of tomorrow. Access to education is the key to solving this.’ – “Suits” alum Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Malala Yousafzai, 45, wrote on Instagram on Sunday with two photos of herself and the activist enjoying tea and scones.
Markle later said the jam company would collaborate with Yousafzai’s foundation.
“This International Day of the Girl, in partnership with Archewell Philanthropies, 100% of the net proceeds from As Ever jams and teas will support the Malala Fund and its vital work to ensure every girl has access to free, safe and quality education,” she wrote.
“Tea for Two has never felt this good. Shop at Assever.com,” Markle concluded.
Last week, the Duchess of Sussex was spotted enjoying a girls’ night out with Yousafzai, 29, at the luxury Claridge hotel in London.
An eagle-eyed netizen caught the duo deep in conversation while sitting across from each other.
This isn’t the first time the two have been linked.
They participated in a virtual conversation hosted by the Malala Fund to discuss International Day of the Girl in 2020, barriers to girls’ education, and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on students around the world.
“Meghan and I agree: we both believe that when girls have access to education, everyone wins,” the Nobel Prize winner said after the meeting.
“Thank you so much to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for having an important conversation with me about the future of our world. ♥️,” he added.
The trip marked the first time Markle has been seen in London since returning to the UK with her husband Prince Harry and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in late August.
Markle, 42, and Harry were photographed heading to a local bar for lunch last week.
Page Six exclusively reported that the couple returned to England to be closer to Harry’s father, King Charles III, who is currently battling cancer, and to allow their children to build relationships with the family.
“Absolutely everyone hopes that father and son will have a closer, more special relationship,” a royal insider said. “It doesn’t do any good to have that information leak out every time they meet or talk.”
