Produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) Sweden’s kyShowtime’s “Homicide Unit” and Iceland’s “Fjord” have been added to Reinvent Yellow Sales’ Mipcom roster.
The two crime series feature top female detectives played by internationally renowned Scandinavian Teps; Swedish star Pernilla August (“Blackwater”, “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace”) and Iceland’s Anita Briem (“The Tudors”, “The Minister”, “As Long As We Live”).
In the screenings, we see Reinvent Yellow a year after the merger of Yellow Film Studios and REinvent; while keeping top-notch Scandinavian shows at its core, it is slowly expanding into English-language films as well.
Created by Gunnar AK Järvstad (“Top Dog”), the eight-episode “Homicide Unit” (“Riksmord”) is inspired by a real-life traveling elite unit that helps local police solve complex murder cases. Making up the ultimate cop team are August (who plays Chief ‘Ib), Jonas Karlsson (“Riding in Darkness,” “Quick”), Alexander Abdallah (“Snabba Cash,” “Paradise City”) and Nina Zanjani (“Beck,” “Agent Hamilton”). The show, which will premiere in March 2027, is co-produced by Sweden’s SkyShowtime, TV4 and regional promoters Film i Skåne, Film i Dalarna and Filmpool Nord.
Just as diverse landscapes from Sweden’s mighty forest to the picturesque coastline enhance the story of “Murder Squad”, the striking and atmospheric nature of Northern Iceland plays an integral part of the tense thriller “Fjord”.

The six-episode series in English and Icelandic, created by Briem with writer-director Constantine Paraskevopoulos, follows Ranna (Briem), who follows her fiancé Sveinn (Pääru Oja) to Iceland after the collapse of their London gallery. Struggling to fit in, Ranna becomes obsessed with the disappearance of a choir teacher ten years ago and starts a podcast about the case. He eventually uncovers the secrets of the town and the truth about himself. “‘The Fjord’ is a crime drama where the real danger is not violence but proximity: living so close to the same people, having shared pasts, and having so much to lose,” Paraskevopoulos said.
Produced by Icelandic Guðný Guðjónsdóttir Sara Djeddou Baldursdóttir (Projects) in conjunction with Belgium’s Lunanime for local broadcaster Síminn, “Fjord” will premiere later this year.
Helene Aurø, chief marketing officer at Reinvent Yellow Sales, said both series “demonstrate the power and diversity of Scandinavian storytelling,” with “diverse creative voices, strong actors and stories that resonate beyond borders.”
Crime Focus
Other titles on the outlet’s Mipcom slate include “Nora Sand: Devil’s Plan,” the third adaptation of Lone Theil’s best-selling novels from Norwegian creators Arne Berggren and Shuuto Arctic’s Kristine Berg. The first two series, “Fatal Crossing” and “The Pushover”, performed strongly internationally; recent sales were completed exclusively by MHZ Networks for North America and Global Series Network/Walter Presents for the United Kingdom and Ireland. “Nora Sand: The Devil’s Plan,” commissioned by DR in Denmark and TV4 in Sweden, will be delivered later this year.
Rounding out the crime offerings are three Finnish series produced by Reinvent Yellow partner Yellow Film & TV: “Helsinki Tallinn,” “The Truth” and “Port Poison,” as well as two top-tier shows that are part of a three-title deal with Nordisk Film Production: Prime Video’s first Danish Original “Snake Killer,” starring Pilou Asbæk, and TV2 Norway’s laid-back crime thriller “Sogn Murders,” starring Kristofer Hivju.
Rounding out Reinvent Yellow’s Mipcom scripted slate is season 8 of hospital drama “The New Nurses,” part of SF Studios Production’s hit franchise TV2 Denmark, set to air in late 2026.
Experienced Danish manager Aurø said: “Our listing reflects a clear strategy: building on our strengths in Northern Europe while expanding our English language ambitions.” Diversity. “Since the merger with Sarı Film & TV [a year ago]We have stepped up our work with the Scandinavian languages and made good progress on the English language side with many exciting projects in development. “This is an evolution of our identity based on strong local storytelling with the ambition to reach international audiences.”
Commenting on buyers’ behavior before Mipcom, he said: “Crime, thriller, survival and disaster and action remain the most sought-after genres, and although buyers are picky, they are still buying. A familiar genre helps open the door, but for a series to stand out it needs a distinctive voice, engaging characters and a clear audience. The focus for us is on stories that combine that appeal with something fresh and give buyers a strong reason to connect.”
