The Bold and the Beautiful Star Defends Finn on Steffy Drama

Tanner Novlan comes to her The Bold and the Beautiful In defense of the character when it comes to how she handles Steffy’s alleged surrogacy.

“This has been really hard for me,” said Novlan, who plays Finn on the long-running soap opera. We. “He’s a very smart doctor, and as an actor approaching this story, it makes sense for him to pull the files and see what’s going on and kind of thread the needle.”

Novlan, 40, argued that it would be very easy if Finn realized his wife was lying to him about the insemination process. (Spoiler alert: He had an affair.)

“I think there’s a balance we have to play here, where there may be little hints that something else is going on,” he continued. “I think this pairing between Steffy and Carter is so out of left field that she hasn’t even thought about it, because what a weird matchup it is. Maybe it hasn’t occurred to her yet.”

The Bold and the Beautiful cast has broken its silence on Steffy and Finn’s future after she accidentally gets pregnant with her best friend’s baby. Season 40, which airs weekdays on CBS, escalated Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Carter’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) one-night stand regarding her pregnancy. After trying to confess to her husband Finn (Tanner […]

He continued: “We’re going to have to start to see this slowly emerge where Finn starts to be more active in saying something else is wrong. He keeps telling her that something else is wrong. He keeps talking about it, so he takes a lot of the blame.”

Season 40, which airs weekdays on CBS, sees Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) One night stand with Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) caused her to become pregnant. Carter then created a plan that involved Steffy pretending to want to be a surrogate mother for him and his wife Daphne (Murielle Hilaire). While Finn was out of town, Steffy claimed to have used her own frozen eggs to help implant an embryo, which would explain her carrying Carter’s baby.

“We often don’t want to see things in real life,” Hilaire, 37, said. We. “Sometimes we put blinders on. We try to keep the peace and harmony, and I know that breaks my character. I don’t want Daphne to be completely oblivious and stupid. I think in real life sometimes we choose not to see.”

Saint-Victor, 44, also read Carter’s perspective.

“Daphne left him for three hours, but left when he showed interest in her. He was a good husband to her when he left. If he made that mistake, why would he stay?” He told us about Carter’s thought process. “She left when he was good. Why would she stay when he was terrible?”

He continued: “That’s the thing about Carter, isn’t it? You’re a man I’ve never met before. You’re virtuous. You’re loyal. What happens when you make a mistake? I mean, he has no faith.”

As Carter continues to dig a deeper hole for herself, Saint-Victor added, “We’re going through the ups and downs of watching what this lie destroys in Steffy and Carter. Because to keep this lie going, you have to start becoming something you don’t want to be. Carter, she doesn’t want to be that bully. Steffy doesn’t want to be a liar who can’t say a word when Carter is talking. That’s not who they are, but that’s what they become. Keep this lie alive, so I think we’ll see more disintegration.”

The Bold and the Beautiful It airs weekdays at 1:30 PM ET on CBS and is available to stream on Paramount+.
