Whitney Fransway’s engagement ring has a history of solid gold.
The 35-year-old “In the City” star got an up-close look at her Page Six sparkler at the VRT Awards 2026 held at New York City’s Edison Ballroom on Tuesday. Apparently the design started with his mother.
“My mother actually had a thicker gold band on her engagement ring until she had it redone when she was 20. [of] “Being married, that’s what I told her. But then she did the rest,” Fransway said on the red carpet alongside her fiancé, Kenny Martin.
Martin popped the question on Sept. 19 in Anacapri, Italy, where the couple had celebrated Fransway’s birthday with dinner the previous summer. But the 42-year-old real estate investor and venture capitalist managed to keep his plans secret.
“I was telling him, ‘Hey, listen, we’re going to Capri… Are you going to be okay if this doesn’t happen? I just want you to be prepared,'” Martin told us.
“He brushed me off for months,” Fransway said. “I thought it wouldn’t happen until the new year, so I was shocked.”
She was so shocked, in fact, that the “Bachelor” alum reached her proposal without getting a new manicure. “I didn’t even have my nails done,” she said. “I haven’t done this in six years.”
The ring, by New York jeweler Material Good, features a long, cushion-cut diamond on a thick yellow gold band.
“He sent me a random message about six months ago and said: ‘Just in case, this is what I’m looking for,'” Martin said.
Fransway paired it with a bridal white minidress for the awards: the Sau Lee lace Ellen dress ($550).
Fransway shared photos and videos of the big moment on Instagram in the days after the proposal, writing, “THIS IS MY FIANCE! 🥹🤍.”
“Bachelor” alums JoJo Fletcher, Rachael Kirkconnell and Vanessa Grimaldi also sent their congratulations, as did her “In the City” castmate Andrea Denver. “Siesta Key” star Juliette Porter also weighed in on the jewelry, commenting, “Oh my God, the dream ring.”
As for a televised wedding, the duo told us it’s “TBD.” “I love having that moment between us, but never say never,” said Fransway, while Martin added: “We have to launch Season 2 first.”
The couple’s relationship came to the fore in the first season of the Bravo series, which saw Martin track down his estranged father after 25 years.
