Ike Barinholtz doesn’t like tech giants very much.
Page Six reported who was at the NYFF64 premiere of “Artificial” when “The Studio” star was asked, “On a scale of 1 to 10, how stupid do you think these (tech) guys are?” he laughed and replied, “Oh my God, a million? I don’t know.”
“I say that like an idiot,” he added diplomatically, before changing his guess.
“Maybe somewhere in between,” he thought.
Barinholtz, 49, plays controversial businessman Elon Musk in “Artificial.” It also stars Andrew Garfield as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and follows his controversial firing and rehiring in 2023. The cast also includes Jason Schwartzman, Yura Borisov, Cooper Hoffman and Billie Lourd.
“The Mindy Project” alumnus shared that he, like many people, is afraid of artificial intelligence.
“I’m trying to be optimistic and will continue to be until I’m proven wrong,” he said, “but I’m very nervous about it. [I’m] worried about people’s jobs. “People need a reason to live, work and do things, and I just want to make sure we don’t celebrate that too much.”
Page Six Hollywood exclusively reported that Amazon MGM is aiming to release the Luca Guadagnino-directed movie in early 2027 because it doesn’t want to conflict with “The Social Reckoning.”
The sequel to “The Social Network” stars Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg and dramatizes the 2021 Facebook leak of whistleblower Frances Haugen and Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz.
A source told Page Six Hollywood that Altman’s “Artificial” character “doesn’t appear to be very sympathetic, and neither is Musk.”
Adding to the weirdness is the fact that Altman and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos are friends.
