Bob Saget’s Widow Kelly Rizzo Reflects on Her Grief

Kelly Rizzo She candidly describes the reality of pain almost five years after her husband Bob Saget dead.

Rizzo, 47, shared a post on his Instagram account on Thursday, October 8, reflecting his ongoing mourning process after losing Saget in January 2022. In the post, she shared a list of “weird grief-related things” she experienced.

“I’m still trying to come to terms with the fact that there won’t be a new photo of him,” she wrote in one of the slides, written over a photo of the former couple together.

Other slides revealed the complex emotions he felt as life went on. “I still feel guilty for feeling happy,” she wrote. Alongside another photo, she added: “Crying still pops up at the weirdest times!”

“Sometimes I catch myself thinking my pain is less important because I’ve only known Bob for six years,” she shared in another slide.

Rizzo admits that he sometimes makes mistakes when looking at different ways other people deal with their own pain.

“Sometimes you find yourself judging someone else’s pain. Of course that’s forbidden! (I heard someone came out again two months later and immediately thought, ‘This is too soon! I feel bad having to judge then.’),” she wrote.

Rizzo also said that he is determined to preserve the late actor’s memory no matter how much time has passed since his death.

“You still don’t want them to be forgotten. Say their names, tell their stories, it’s so strange that the world continues to act this way,” he wrote.

Another aspect that Rizzo said he found “weird” was when Saget burst into his subconscious.

“Dreams don’t follow a timeline. I haven’t dreamed about Bob in years, and I had my first significant dream about him just this year,” she wrote.

Rizzo also revealed that there have been other significant changes since the comedian’s death.

“Your life is divided into before and after. BBD and ABD (Before Bob Died and After Bob Died),” he shared. Rizzo continued, “Talking is still unbearable. You don’t have time for superficial things anymore.”
