“I’ve never met him before,” Kressley replied, adding: “I think Strange Eye was at its peak, they invited me to the CMT Flameworthy Awards, which was a very random thing, and I had all the Western attire.
Kressley recalled choosing to wear the themed outfits on stage as “a tribute to Dolly” and went on to praise the “Jolene” singer.
“Then they brought her in and, you know, she was so friendly and angelic and we just bonded right away and had a great conversation and hung out and it wasn’t…a quick meet and greet and leave,” she shared. “We got to hang out, and I was so nervous doing that part in the scene with her. And I think I did it wrong, because, you know, that’s Dolly. She was phenomenal.”
Kressley comments WWHL It comes after the TV personality honored Parton, who died in August, by sharing a selfie taken at the awards night on Instagram.

“Sorry it’s blurry, it’s been in a frame for 20 years and I didn’t want to take it out for fear of ruining it – I think it’s a Polaroid from when we first met in 2004. CMT was doing an awards show called Flameworthies and Dolly and I presented a category together. What a joy, honor and excitement it was!”
On August 25, news broke that the “I Will Always Love You” singer had died at the age of 80 after a brief battle with an undisclosed form of cancer.
