Emmy winner Chad Lowe and his family are mourning the loss of Fiona, the “Life Goes On” actor’s second daughter, whom he shared with wife Kim Painter.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” Lowe’s family said in a statement shared with People magazine on Tuesday. In the statement, it was reminded that Fiona, who died at the age of 13, was “a smart, creative and loving girl who loved to dance.”
A representative for Lowe, 58, did not immediately respond to The Times’ request for comment Wednesday. The statement also did not disclose the cause of death, but the family included information about the mental health helpline, writing: “If you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.”
“He was very much loved by his sisters and loved by his parents. In fact, he was the light of our lives,” the family wrote.
Rob Lowe and Painter’s younger brother Lowe married in 2010 and welcomed Fiona in 2012. Fiona, who celebrated her 13th birthday in November, was the second of the couple’s three daughters. They welcomed Mabel for the first time in 2009 and their youngest daughter, Nixie, in 2016.
Fiona’s death comes after the “Pretty Little Liars” actress’ family lost their home in the Palisades fire, which killed 12 people and destroyed more than 6,500 structures. A month after the fire in January 2025, Lowe posted a photo of his three daughters looking at the ruins of their home.
“The way they handled this whole devastating experience was extraordinary,” he wrote at the time. “I admire their spirit and resilience.”
In a statement, the Lowe family said Fiona’s death was “devastating for our entire family” and asked for prayers and privacy.
