Elizabeth Holmes’ Partner Billy Evans Speaks Out Following the Release of ‘You Can See Everything’

Elizabeth Holmes’ partner Billy Evans shares his thoughts on “You Can See It All,” including what he believes are the biggest misconceptions about himself and many other topics.

On November 3, Evans invited people to attend an AMA on X to ask me anything, suggesting that it should be “legally permissible (sic).”

Among the mildest questions is someone asking what he and Holmes will do first after being released from prison.

“Hold our kids tight and talk all night long,” replied Evans, who shares two children with the Theranos founder.

Holmes was convicted of four counts of wire fraud for misrepresenting to investors what the company’s technology could do. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2022 and is currently in a minimum security prison in Bryan, Texas.

Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s documentary “You Can See Everything” followed him and Evans in the weeks before their incarceration. The film became a critical and commercial success, with many viewers and experts questioning her and Evans’ intentions.

Fielder previously shared during the Los Angeles screening in October that Evans had not seen the film before it was released on October 16.

When X was asked what he missed most about Holmes, Evans said “everything.”

“I miss his presence. His touch. The way he runs his fingers through my hair. His patience. He makes me a better person. And without him, I feel an emptiness that’s hard to describe,” she wrote. “A lot of times people say they need someone, but it really means they want it. I’ve thought a lot about that distinction. I need Liz. It should qualify as a medically necessary prescription.”

When someone replied, “Their scrambled eggs,” Evans replied, “Definitely not that,” with a melting face emoji.

There’s a moment in the documentary where Holmes is scrambling eggs in a yellow bowl. While he is talking to Fielder, Evans takes the bowl from his hands and begins to whip it vigorously. When the producer questions his move, Evans implies that it was because his partner wasn’t doing it right.

Evans also shared on X that he saw “almost all” of Fielder’s work before filming “You Can See Everything.” She also wrote that they celebrated Fielder’s birthday “at the table with my family in Del Mar,” adding: “He missed the Time 100 dinner too, so we celebrated that.”

TODAY.com has reached out to Evans, Fielder and Holmes for additional comment.

He also touched on more serious issues, including “a misunderstanding in the movie” that he wanted to clear up.

“That I control Liz in some way. Anyone who really knows her would find that idea funny. She is fiercely independent, strong-willed, and my best friend,” he tweeted. “We are partners in every sense. We challenge each other, disagree, and face the world together. Her best friends are also some of my best friends. If I treat her badly, they’ll get my head.”

Someone also wondered why Fielder prevented Holmes from speaking to her father in the documentary.

“Both Nathan and the audience found that truly ‘seeing it all’ was an integral part of the documentary,” the contact wrote. “It felt like a missed opportunity that could have continued to shine more light on Liz.”

In his response, Evans stated that Holmes would go to jail and that they would spend three days together. “I wanted to spend that time together. Once he got in, he interviewed his family. They chose not to include that in the film. I didn’t control the editing. If there was something the directors wanted from them, they had plenty of opportunities to get it.”

When asked about using power of attorney over Holmes and going directly to X for the profile password instead, he wrote that they “discussed this at length for several months. He knew exactly what we were doing.”

“We talk about everything, including X. Nothing happened behind his back,” he claimed. “The POA was a legal mechanism that allowed me to act on his behalf while he was in prison. It was not a substitute for his consent.”

When asked for further clarification, he said Holmes’ account was “linked to an old Theranos email, password forgotten.”

“You Can See Everything” continues to be a trending topic on the internet. It is not known whether the attention shown to Evans is good or bad. But when asked if he regretted accepting the documentary, he simply wrote, “Not at all.”
