Country star Ella Langley shut down a fan’s date request that went viral on social media with a candid response.
In footage circulating on TikTok, a fan shouts from behind the fence: “Ella, how many people like to take you on dates?” After the show in Knoxville, Tennessee, on September 24.
The 27-year-old “Choosin’ Texas” hitmaker gave the content creator, who goes by the username Tiki, a look of deep disappointment before replying, “There’s not enough of it in the world.”
He then shook his head in horror and walked away from the camera as members of his group looked on.
After letting out an audible sigh, Tiki turned the camera towards herself in the clip and joked, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
He apparently struck a protective stance, crossing his arms over his chest as he walked away from the country star.
Fans gave a variety of responses to the comment thread, with one person quipped, “But he didn’t mention the universe.”
Another sympathetically commented: “This made me love her even more. It’s not her job to be nice to random guys. She’s set her boundaries, respect that.”
Others wondered why the impromptu date proposal made her so angry, with one suggesting former country star Dolly Parton “said something funny.”
Another noted that “screaming 24/7 can be annoying.”
In a subsequent video, Tiki shows a comment allegedly left by the country superstar: “This was definitely meant as dark humor and obviously it wasn’t because of me.”
“I will say it takes more than just likes on TikTok,” he added in his seemingly deleted comment. “I’m still human.”
The viral video comes after a report claimed the “Be Her” singer was dating fellow country star Tucker Wetmore.
Sources confirmed this to People on Wednesday, after the Sun reported that the duo quietly escaped the Nashville Songwriter Awards together.
Photos published by TMZ show the artists leaving the Ryman Auditorium together that evening.
“Tucker was hiding backstage waiting for Ella to finish her awards presentation,” a source told the Sun. “They fled the place together.”
Insiders told TMZ that their alleged romance “was going on long before” they were spotted in Nashville, and that they met through mutual friends in the music industry.
Langley was also confronting her fears with a video posted on TikTok on Tuesday of herself nervously holding a snake around her neck.
“This is a little bit of confronting my fears,” he said in the clip, as an Argentinian boa was handed to him. In the footage, she also sat next to a baby kangaroo on the couch and welcomed a yellow-and-green parrot on her shoulder.
“Welcome to today: exotic animal print 🐍,” she captioned the clip.
