Maren Morris shares photos from her recovery journey.
In a recent Instagram post, the 36-year-old country singer posted photos from her recent trip to Bali and told her followers she’s “not cured, but she’s getting better.”
“Thank you @rachelbeauregard + @hotyogaeastnashville for the best trip to Bali with so many new friends for life,” she wrote in her caption. “And it’s not over yet :)”
In one photo, Morris showed off her toned abs in a black string bikini as she stood on a deck with lounge chairs behind her, a drink in her hand.
Others showed him participating in a group meditation, standing under a waterfall, joking with friends and other snaps from his trip.
“He’s thriving (and surviving),” one fan wrote in the comments section. Another added: “So glad to see this journey for you 🥹.”
Morris rose to fame in 2016 when he released his breakthrough song “My Church,” which led to his debut album “Hero,” which included hits such as “80’s Mercedes,” “I Could Use a Love Song” and “Rich.”
She has since released four studio albums, including “DREAMSICLE,” “Humble Quest” and “Girl,” and has been nominated for 17 Grammy Awards, with only one win.
While it’s unclear what she’s healing from as of now, while promoting “DREAMSICLE” in August 2025, she told People how personal the album is, addressing her sexuality and how she made it after her divorce from ex-husband Ryan Hurd.
“It’s amazing; it’s a very intimate recording, it’s very sensitive, it’s not the easiest thing to do – so for people to have received it so well and to have received healing from my healing, to be able to see the living form of that place now is really special.”
An outspoken liberal, she also described in a January TikTok how her mental health had deteriorated because she was “so deeply concerned and disturbed by the weird status quo of country music.”
Morris said he doesn’t attend many award ceremonies anymore, and that these award ceremonies have become “risky” due to the change in the political atmosphere of country music after President Trump’s first term.
“I’ve lost a lot of fans over the years because of my perspectives, and I think that’s fair,” Morris said. “If you disagree with me and can’t enjoy my music because of my views, you have absolutely the right to do so.”
Morris has faced criticism in the past for his political views, and in 2024 he was told he should be arrested after taking his young son to a drag show.
After receiving backlash, she defended herself during an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” telling the host that the drag show her son was attending was “family friendly.”
“I think it’s an incredible expression of art, and so I think it’s a great thing to normalize that and make it seem like these are just people who like to dress up,” she said. “It was a show for audiences of all ages, so it was completely family friendly.”
