Prince Harry was greeted with boos when he was spotted enjoying a low-key outing at a rugby match on Friday.
Harry, who was not accompanied by wife Meghan Markle, was apparently drinking beer and watching the Leicester-Gloucester match with Leicester chief executive Andrea Pinchen when he starred on the venue’s big screen, according to APF.
Some viewers responded by booing before the TNT network cameras cut away.
“There are some boos,” TNT commentator Nick Mullins confirmed, according to the broadcast.
Harry’s strained relationship with his father, King Charles, and older brother, Prince William, has been extensively documented since he and Markle left royal staff and moved to California in 2020.
Additionally, the couple has publicly aired their grievances against the royal family, including in the 2022 Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan” and Harry’s explosive 2023 memoir “Spare.”
As previously reported, Page Six confirmed in August that Meghan and Harry would return to the UK for an “extended period” with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to be closer to her father, who is currently battling cancer.
The couple’s return to the UK was an uneven process; They enrolled their children in a fancy $35,000-a-year prep school, but 7-year-old Archie and 5-year-old Lilibet were removed after two days because of a safety risk.
As tensions continue between the Sussexes and Harry’s relatives, it looks like they won’t be spending Christmas with the royal family this year.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to join Charles, William and the rest of the royal family for the traditional Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, a source exclusively tells Page Six.
The decision comes amid ongoing conflict between Harry and his family; The two had apparently decided to avoid potentially uncomfortable encounters over the holidays.
The news comes just days after royal experts dismissed reports that Harry, 42, and Markle, 45, were planning to apologize to William and his wife, Kate Middleton, in the hope of ending their years-long feud.
