Last point in Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce It was filled with team spirit for another major sports franchise on one lonely night.
The 37-year-old NFL star rocked his red Nike Cleveland Guardians jersey and navy blue hat bearing the team’s logo while watching Game 5 of the American League Division Series against the Chicago White Sox on Saturday, October 10. (Kelce had some down time this weekend as he was in the Chiefs’ bye week.)
Kelce’s appearance at Progressive Field may have given the Guardians a boost, as the team eventually beat the White Sox 2-0 to win the series. Saturday’s victory advanced the Guardians to the American League Championship Series for the second time in three years.
Guardians is now in St. Petersburg on Monday, October 12th. Petersburg will face the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the ALCS at Tropicana Field in Florida.

Kelce has a business interest in the Guardians’ postseason success, having become a minority owner of the roster earlier this year. Kelce’s involvement in Guardians ownership was a complete success, as Kelce claimed to have been a “hardcore fan” of the team while growing up in the Cleveland area.
“I love this city,” Kelce told ESPN in March. “I say this all the time: I’m just a kid from the Heights living my dreams. I owe everything good in my life to Cleveland and my upbringing with its values, people and work ethic. Cleveland Heights is such a diverse and dynamic place.”
The athlete continued, “Every friend, neighbor, teacher, and teammate; they all made me the man I am today. It fueled such a deep appreciation for life, community, and service. This Cleveland mindset towards the world runs deep.”
At the time, Kelce tipped his hat to the Hunt family, owners of the Kansas City Chiefs, and said he was “fortunate enough to have a good front row seat to my career” in the NFL.
“I know the best teams prioritize culture,” he added. “Everyone is there to play their part and right now I’m here to observe, learn and really support the team and the city wherever and whenever I can.”
Cleveland is definitely having a pop culture moment this fall. Kelce’s wife in September Taylor Swiftshouted out his hometown with the song “Cleveland” from the extended version of his record-breaking 2025 album, A Showgirl’s Life.
“I guess there’s one thing we can all agree on / But my baby likes the things she likes,” Swift sings on the chorus of “Cleveland.” “She already took me to Cleveland / And she showed me The Heights, so hate it all you want / This is the love of my life.”
Travis and his brother on the Sept. 30 episode of the “New Heights” podcast Jason Kelce He gave his stamp of approval to Swift’s tribute to Cleveland.
“Cleveland is rocking right now,” Kelce told the audience. “Shout out to Tay Tay for making this song.”
His brother Jason, 38, said: “Man, this song is incredible. [My wife] Kylie [Kelce] And I listened to it so much. There’s something about this [that] It makes you feel really good.”
The Chiefs return to action on Sunday, October 18th when they host the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.
